VoxPrompter: the teleprompter that listens while you perform
VoxPrompter follows your voice, word by word. No scrolling, no clicking, no losing your place mid-take. Built for voice actors, audiobook narrators, and anyone who reads out loud for a living.
- Voice-following teleprompter: the highlight advances as you speak and waits when you pause.
- Studio-grade recording: 48kHz/24-bit or 44.1kHz/16-bit WAV, captured locally. Your audio never leaves your browser.
- ACX compliance check on every take: peak, RMS, and noise floor measured against Audible's audiobook requirements.
- Punch-and-roll recording: cut a take at any word, get rolled back in, and keep recording from the splice.
- Private by design: takes never leave your browser, and scripts can be kept on your device only.
Plans: Free (teleprompter and practice reads) or Pro at $10/month or $100/year with every feature included: WAV export, ACX checks, punch-and-roll, timing targets, and priority support. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial, no card required. You can also try the studio without an account at /try.
Who it's for
- Audiobook narrators — A teleprompter built for narration: follows your voice through the manuscript, records WAV takes locally, and checks every take against ACX standards.
- Streamers — A browser teleprompter that follows your voice for sponsor reads and announcements on stream. No plugin, no install — runs beside OBS on any monitor.
- Podcasters — Read intros, outros, and ad spots that sound spoken, not read. A teleprompter that follows your voice and waits when you pause. Free, in your browser.
- YouTube creators — Read your script to camera naturally. A free online teleprompter that follows your voice — put the browser window under your lens. No apps, no hardware.
Frequently asked questions
Does VoxPrompter upload my audio?
No. Your microphone is analyzed locally in your browser, and recorded takes stay in the browser until you download them. Nothing you say or record is sent to a server.
Does VoxPrompter use AI?
No. There are no AI features in the app. Voice-following works by measuring sound level and rhythm on your device — not speech recognition — and nothing is transcribed.
Do I need an account?
Not for the basic teleprompter: open vox-prompter.com/try and start reading, with scripts saved in your browser. An account adds cloud script storage and starts a free 14-day Pro trial, no card required.
What’s free, and does it stay free?
The teleprompter itself — including voice-following — and the ACX audio checker at vox-prompter.com/acx-check are free forever. Paid plans only cover the recording-studio features.
What does Pro add?
Studio-grade WAV export, an ACX check on every recorded take, punch-and-roll recording, and timing targets, for $10/month or $100/year.
How does the voice-following work?
The prompter listens to your microphone and advances the highlight on the level and rhythm of your speech, entirely on your device. When you speak, it moves; when you pause, it waits. It is not speech recognition, and no transcript is made.
Can I import PDF scripts?
Yes. PDFs are converted to a clean script in your browser: running heads, page numbers, and end-of-line hyphenation are stripped automatically. Scanned PDFs with no text layer are the one kind it can’t read.
Is it only for audiobooks?
No. VoxPrompter runs in any browser, so it works anywhere you read scripted speech: streaming, podcast intros and ad reads, YouTube videos, presentations, and narration.
